The Piedmont Soil & Water Conservation District this year will award up to four $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and college students.

Made possible through the Lindy Hamlett Education Scholarship Fund, the awards support students planning to enroll or who are currently enrolled fulltime in a curriculum related to Natural Resource Conservation and/or Environmental Studies.

While other majors may be considered, preference is given to applicants studying natural resource conservation or environmental studies. Applicants must have a permanent residence within Amelia, Nottoway, or Prince Edward counties to be eligible. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, March 8th. For more information, visit
