Reports of intoxicated teenagers caused considerable concern early Saturday morning in Nottoway County — particularly since they apparently were traveling in a vehicle.
Sheriff Robert Jones says that 911 Dispatch received a call at 12:58 a.m. in reference to “a party in Burkeville with teenagers in the woods before the call was disconnected.”
Dispatchers called back the number, and a male answered and reportedly said he was very drunk before the line disconnected again. There were indications that the male wasn’t alone and that those around him might also be drunk, according to reports.
The phone was traced and the caller appeared to be mobile. A signal was picked-up on Cedar Hill Road and then Rocky Hill Road (Rt. 153), heading south (toward Rt. 460).
Jones said deputies were able to locate a party in a wooded area in the 3900 block of Rocky Hill Road. “Subjects were advised to keep it down,” said Jones, “and units cleared.”
