Joseph Banks (left) of Blackstone this past Saturday enjoyed meeting Jeremy Weldon, editor of The Oxford (Mississippi) Eagle, which published a photo of Banks’ son, Tyler Banks, on The Eagle’s Nov. 8th front page. Tyler Banks, a Special Teams Captain and senior for the Ole Miss Rebels, was a team captain in Saturday’s 49-0 home victory over the The Citadel. In addition to his special teams captain’s duties, Banks played the entire second half at linebacker and finished with two tackles and four assists. Ole Miss improved to 9-1 and is ranked #6 nationally in the Associated Press poll with two games left. This coming Saturday is Senior Day at home against Florida, and then the Rebels will travel Nov. 28th to in-state rival Mississippi State. Banks is a 2022 graduate of Nottoway High School. Earlier this year he was named recipient of Ole Miss’ prestigious Chucky Mullins Courage Award.
