Everett Amos

Small towns such as Blackstone are occasionally blessed with those of exceptional talents -- whether it be the painting of a picture, the leading of a civic club, or the playing of a musical instrument.

Blackstone lost one of those talented persons recently when the Lord called home Everett Amos. He was Minister of Music at Crenshaw United Methodist Church for a number of years. He suffered a stroke in the prime of his life. He was disabled on one side.

Everett Amos refused to allow his affliction to prevent him from playing the piano as beautifully as before his stroke. He mastered the keyboard with one hand so well that he made proud a group of area residents who were enjoying a cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Wind.
