What gives, Supervisors?

Dear Sir:

On November 21st, 2019, the Nottoway County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution declaring Nottoway to be a Second Amendment sanctuary.

In that strongly-worded resolution, Nottoway thumbs our collective noses at Governor Northam and his Democrat supporters for any laws or actions that would infringe on our 2nd amendment rights.

Then we have the most recent plea to the Governor in a letter of April 23rd, 2020 signed by board Chairlady Simmons which pales in comparison.

The Second Amendment resolution lays out strong and reasonable objections and declares that the County will uphold the Second Amendment and oppose unconstitutional restrictions.

The letter “urging” the Governor to allow Nottoway businesses to reopen contains nowhere near the resolve of the sanctuary resolution.
