Yes indeed, next Tuesday is about anger

A political pundit recently remarked that the midterm elections are chiefly about anger. Here’s what I’m angry about: I am angry that this President’s policies are hurting rural Americans -- especially farmers -- by not filling key positions at the Dept. of Agriculture, defunding the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) -- responsible for collection of data used in weather forecasting -- the imposition of tariffs that have induced our trading partners to seek trade elsewhere, thus losing billions of dollars in grain sales to other countries (sales that are unlikely to return when the tariffs are lifted) and depressing already-low grain prices, demonizing SNAP -- a program that returns $1.73 in economic activity for every dollar spent and helps 14% of Americans get enough food to feed their children, and stultifying research into climate change which has and is now and will be affecting farmers for generations.
