Food, supply drive this Sat. 9-1

The Blackstone Chamber of Commerce will hold another Drive-Thru Food Drive for HELP (Helping Every Life Prosper) this coming Saturday, Aug. 1st, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home at 1400 South Main Street across from Wal-Mart.

Saturday’s event will include a request for back-to-school items to help students and teachers prepare for re-opening of classes in coming weeks. Items needed include: pencils, pens, highlighters, EXPO Dry Erase Markers, glue sticks, scissors, colored pencils, crayons, colored markers, scotch tape, marble composition notebooks, notebook paper, graph paper, construction papers, rulers, erasers (for pencils), Kleenex, hand sanitizers, and disinfectant wipes.

HELP, which was started in May 1990 by the Blackstone Ministerial Association, offers food and monetary assistance to qualifying individuals.
