Beloved Christmas ‘tree’ moving here

Decoration began here 52 years ago

A cherished sight at Christmastime for many local residents will continue this year, but at a different location.

The long-running Dewey “Christmas Tree” is moving from South Main Street to the fire station on Church Street. It’s possible the unique decoration will be assembled and lighted in time for tonight’s 6:00 p.m. Edgar Johnson Memorial Service (See Related story).

Greg Dewey, son of the late Max & Ercelle Dewey, recently donated his parent’s Christmas creation to the fire department, where Max served for more than 50 years.
