Crewe sewer plant diminished
The Town of Crewe is preparing to spend upwards of $800,000 on a project to restore capacity at the Town’s sewer treatment plant.
Crewe Town Council held a public hearing last week on bond financing for what Mayor Phil Miskovic describes as a wastewater plant oxidation ditch cleaning project.
“This cleaning should have been done on a 10-year cycle,” according to a report by financial advisors Davenport & Company, “but has never been done since the wastewater treatment plant went into operation in 1996. As a result, the plant’s capacity has been compromised upwards of 50%.”
