A large number of friends and family members gathered Sunday at the Lunenburg Courts Complex for the unveiling of an official portrait of the late W. Roy Moore that will hang in the anteroom of the County’s 1827 courthouse. Moore, who grew-up in Dundas and later moved to Victoria, was Clerk of the Court in Lunenburg from 1961 until his retirement in 1989. During his tenure, none of his elections were contested due to his popularity and public trust. He was described during Sunday’s program as a wonderful humanitarian as well as a conscientious public servant. A number of Mr. Moore’s nieces and nephews are shown here admiring the portrait, which was done by Fran Willis of Victoria.
