ROAD TRIP TO EPPINGTON

Lunenburg Hist. Society to tour Chesterfield Co. plantation

Members of the Lunenburg County Historical Society invite area residents to join them at Eppington Plantation in Chesterfield County for the Society’s annual Fall tour on Saturday, Oct. 26th.

Eppington, built circa 1768 in Chesterfield County, was the home of Francis Eppes VI, a prominent farmer and brother-in-law of Thomas Jefferson.

In 1989, Chesterfield County accepted from the Hinds/ Cherry family the plantation house and 43 acres of land, which include the historic cemetery. Eppington is registered as a National, Virginia, and Chesterfield County Historic Landmark.
