‘CABBAGE PATCH’ SELLS FOR $350,000
Nottoway County Supervisors voted 5-0 Thursday night to sell Piedmont Park near Burkeville for $350,000 to Alabama-based Saad Development Corporation.
The 17.28-acre tract is located near Piedmont Geriatric Hospital along Rts. 360-360-723 and is going for $22,000 per acre.
“I’m tired of looking at a cabbage patch,” said Supervisor Steve Bowen, who moved for the deal to move forward. Bowen was referring to crops raised by work force center inmates at nearby Nottoway Correctional Center.
Deputy County Administrator John Prosise said the buyer has a prospective tenant -- a distribution facility.
