• MOTHER & CHILD Cyndi Gaulding being consoled and her late son, Tyson James Tharpe.

‘Time to move forward and heal,’ says Comm. Atty.

Nottoway County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Terry Royall, says she won’t re-try Cynthia Gaulding in the 2017 death of her five-year-old son, Tyson Tharpe.

Ms. Gaulding was found Not Guilty in March of Felony Homicide after a week-long trial, but the jury of eight men and four women was unable to reach a verdict on a Felony Child Abuse charge.

Jurors deliberated a total of 11 hours over two days and, according to one juror, were split, 10-2, in favor of acquittal.
