‘Time to move forward and heal,’ says Comm. Atty.
Nottoway County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Terry Royall, says she won’t re-try Cynthia Gaulding in the 2017 death of her five-year-old son, Tyson Tharpe.
Ms. Gaulding was found Not Guilty in March of Felony Homicide after a week-long trial, but the jury of eight men and four women was unable to reach a verdict on a Felony Child Abuse charge.
Jurors deliberated a total of 11 hours over two days and, according to one juror, were split, 10-2, in favor of acquittal.
