Old issue heats-up for new Blackstone Council

Officials spar over repairs

by volunteers

After spirited discussion, Blackstone Town Council has voted 6-1 to let Harris Memorial Armory volunteers continue to make cosmetic repairs inside the building using only private funds and donations -- no Town money.

Ward A rep Nathaniel Miller cast the dissenting vote last Wednesday (14th), calling the building unsafe and declaring that he will not meet with Armory chairman Walter Mac Osborne.

“I will NOT talk to Mac,” Miller declared. “The last time he came here, he wanted to get Peanut (Lewis Johnson).”
