APPLICANT OFFERS ASSURANCE ON ODOR
Blackstone -- which a century ago was a stronghold for Prohibitionists and which was the last town in this area to get a state liquor store -- is about to become the first to welcome a distilled spirits plant.
Town Planning Commissioners last week voted unanimously to recommend approval of the request by Lance Dorin of Blackstone and Lester Steele of Amelia.
They plan to launch “Dogged State Distilling Company” in a portion of the 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse building on North West Avenue near the Town’s industrial park.
