BLACKSTONE FIREWORKS

Back-to-back nights for July 4th celebrations

COUNCIL BACKS CHAMBER EVENT

Blackstone, which from 2007 to 2017 had no Independence Day fireworks display, this year likely will have two.

Meeting in special session Monday evening (June 8th), Town Council approved a request by the Chamber of Commerce to hold an Independence Day event at the Town’s Wrigglesworth Sports Complex.

The Chamber’s event is scheduled for Friday, July 3rd, starting at 4:00 p.m. and ending with a 9:00 p.m. fireworks show. No admission is being charged, and no alcohol will be served. Coolers are prohibited.

The Chamber originally wanted to hold its event on July 4th, but changed that date during the meeting to July 3rd date to avoid a conflict with the local Tri-County Eagles on Cox Road north of town. For the third straight year, the Eagles are planning a fireworks show on July 4th
