Blackstone Remembers

More than 100 people--including Congresswoman-elect Abigail Spanberger (upper left)--attended the Town of Blackstone’s Veterans Day ceremony Sunday morning in Seay Park. Fort Pickett Commander LTC Paul Gravely (upper right) was the keynote speaker. Vietnam veterans John Hill and William Irby laid a wreath at the park’s Nottoway County War Memorial, and local veteran Joe McMillian (lower right) sang the National Anthem. Town’s 11 a.m. ceremony coincided with the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day (Nov. 11, 1918).
