Complaint made to State over Town museum

Benefactors hope to avoid ‘further action’

A local family, which donated close to $200,000 in cash and antique carriages to Blackstone, has written a letter to VDOT and Town officials, claiming the Town has failed to meet stipulations in the grant that helped build and establish the Robert Thomas Carriage Museum.

The May 19th letter, which outlines what it describes as several “serious violations,” is written by the late Mr. Thomas’ son, Bobby, who served as museum curator until his job was eliminated by Town Council three years ago, in the 2015-16 budget.
