The Top Three

Elyssa Long’s photo of her 2-year-old son, Layton Fix of Victoria, was judged Best-in-Show in the Courier-Record’s 2nd Annual Christmas Memories Photo Contest. The Courier received a total of 42 submitted photos, and our seven full-time staffers selected and ranked their top five. Photos received five points for every 1st place vote, four points for 2nd, and so on. Elyssa’s photo received 27 points, including four 1st place selections. Second place (18 points) went to Dawn Boelte, who photgraphed her granddaughter, Olivia Lewis of Blackstone, gazing at Dawn’s Christmas tree (lower left).

Third place (10 points) went to Carole Hagaman, who captured her great-grandson, Tripp Simmons (lower right) of Burkeville, squealing in delight at his new car and track he received from Santa.
