28 new cases in Nottoway

Here are the latest reported COVID-19 case numbers for our area, as of 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning (Tuesday, Oct. 20th), according to the Virginia Dept. of Health.

These numbers are cumulative since the pandemic arrived here in March -- seven months ago.

There’s often a lag time of several days before new cases and deaths are reported.

Nottoway: 334 cases (up from 306 last week, 58 new cases over last two weeks), 46 hospitalizations, 20 deaths.

Lunenburg: 145 cases (up from 132), 7 hospitalizations, 3 deaths.

Amelia: 139 cases (up from 132), 16 hospitalizations, 6 deaths (up from 5 the previous week).

Brunswick: 412 cases (up from 397), 40 hospitalizations (up from 30 last week), 5 deaths.

Dinwiddie: 485 cases (up from 456), 40 hospitalizations, 12 deaths.

Prince Edward: 725 cases (up from 679), 35 hospitalizations, 13 deaths (up from 12).

Mecklenburg: 850 cases (up from 837), 45 hospitalizations, 34 deaths.

Chesterfield: 6,737 cases (up from 6,458), 395 hospitalizations, 100 deaths (up from 98).

STATEWIDE: 167,754 cases (up from 160,805), 11,955 hospitalizations, 3,485 deaths (up from 3,372).
