DEAD MAN’S DEBIT CARD
Chief defends why no autopsy was performed in motel death
Blackstone Police have confirmed the identity of a woman arrested in the theft and use of a debit card, which belonged to a man found dead at the Wedgewood Motor Inn.
According to Chief of Police Nick Kuzmiak and court records, Diana Lynne Perkinson, 46, of Cole Harbor Road, Blackstone, is charged with Conspiracyand Larceny(both felonies) and five counts of misdemeanor Credit Card Fraud, each dealing with a transaction less than $500.
Police say the card belonged to Sam Umphlette, Jr., a 49-year-old Keysville man (formerly of Blackstone), who was found dead Monday, March 4th, inside Room 124 of the South Main St. motel.
