Miami businessman pays County $310,000

‘Full speed ahead’ on hotel project

The last item in today’s monthly “Land Transfers” (page B-8) confirms that Miami, Florida developer Orlando Gomez has bought a 73-acre tract beside Nottoway Lanes bowling alley on Darvills Road (Rt. 40) from Nottoway County.

The sales price is listed at $310,000, or $4,246 per acre.

Gomez has formed a limited liability corporation, Nottoway Commons LLC, and plans a commercial development that will include 500 hotel rooms and five fast food restaurants in “Phase One.”
