DRIVER IN FATAL CRASH APPEARS
A preliminary hearing has been set for March 17th in Nottoway General District Court for the man charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the motor vehicle accident that killed well-known Crewe realtor Ronald V. Dunn.
Ovidio Constanza, 25, of Guy Avenue, Crewe, appeared last week via video from Piedmont Regional Jail during an arraignment. Attorney Preston Williams was appointed by the court to represent the defendant.
The head-on collision occurred the afternoon of Dec. 30th in the 1100 block of Tyler Road near Crewe. State Police said Constanza was driving a Ford E250 truck that crossed the center line and struck Dunn’s Lincoln Town Car head-on. Mr. Dunn, 71, died at the scene, and Constanza and a passenger were seriously injured.
