Escapes Serious Injury
Blackstone Police are analyzing this brick (right), which they say was thrown and struck Blackstone Herb Cottage owner Candy Early in the head last Wednesday morning. The brick normally sits on top of a grease container behind her restaurant. Ms. Early says she was on her computer at 6:50 a.m. when suddenly, she thought the ceiling had collapsed. She said it wasn’t until moments later that she realized she had been attacked. Ms. Early said she received six staples in her head at Swift Creek ER in Chesterfield. She says her attacker or attackers apparently entered through the back door, stayed out-of-view of a kitchen security camera, threw the brick at her, then locked the back door on their way out, to delay response of police and rescue.
