Election year budget prepares for staffed dumpster sites, new animal shelter, Courthouse Complex improvements

Public hearing April 18th on County proposal

Nottoway’s Board of Supervisors is proposing a $36.07 million budget that includes no new tax increases and is balanced by taking $100,000 out of the County reserves.

A public hearing on the proposed budget, which is advertised on page 10 of today’s Courier-Record, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18th, in the General District Courtroom.

The County’s real estate tax rate would remain 48¢ per $100 valuation, and personal property would stay at $3.75 per $100.
