STILL THE BOSS THRU MARCH
After an hour-long executive session that included two attorneys, the Nottoway Board of Supervisors last Thursday voted 5-0 to formally accept the retirement of County Administrator Ronnie Roark.
District Five Supervisor Lynn Shekleton’s motion said Roark’s retirement will take effect April 1st -- which is what Roark had announced on Dec. 19th through a letter read aloud in Roark’s absence by Supervisor Helen Simmons.
Ms. Shekleton’s motion further stated that meanwhile, until April 1st, Roark “will remain an employee of Nottoway County and serve at the pleasure of the Board.”
Administrator Roark again wasn’t present Thursday night. His letter in December stated that he would be on vacation from Jan. 1st until April 1st.
