The thermometer in downtown Blackstone read one-below-zero° at 7:00 Sunday morning. A one-and-a-half inch snowfall last Wednesday night and early Thursday morning “stuck around” for several days thanks to an arctic blast that saw daytime highs below freezing.
Warmer temperatures were forecasted this week. Area schools were closed Thursday, Friday, and again Monday and Tuesday (yesterday).
