Mrs. Susan Marie Graham Finch, 70, of Blackstone, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 28, 2020.
She was born September 14, 1949 to father, Hollis DuPree Graham, and mother, Juanita Hope Wolfe Graham. Preceded in death by sister, Deborah Jo Graham Owens and survived by sister, Constance Ann Graham, all of Galivants Ferry, South Carolina.
On April 15, 1969, she became a loving wife to Fred Cabel Finch of Blackstone, Virginia. She and Fred enjoyed 51 years of marriage.
She was the loving and caring mother of one beautiful daughter, Beverly Jo Finch, and one son, Dillon Cabel Finch (Cari Adams), and the loving grandmother of one beautiful granddaughter, Elizabeth Madison Finch.
She was also blessed with two beautiful nieces, Kelly Marie Owens Frye (Thomas Michael Frye) and Sally Ann Owens Poston (James Michael Poston), and three beautiful great-nieces, Michael Dupree Frye, Alexandra Hope Frye, and Graham Hollis Poston, all of whom she loved as though they were her own daughters.
She graduated Aynor High School, Aynor, South Carolina in 1967. She completed a Professional Secretarial Course at Columbia Commercial College, Columbia, South Carolina in 1969. In 1988, she received an Associate in Applied Science Degree, majoring in Secretarial Science from Southside Virginia Community College.
For over 20 years, she was a secretary for the office of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. She was also a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Crewe, Virginia for 45 years.
A private service was held at Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home in Blackstone, Virginia, followed by a private burial at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Friday, May 29, 2020.
