He was the youngest and last survivor of 11 siblings: Richard, Marcus (Mike), Charles, Mary Alma (Mamie), Leonard (Ginty), Vernon, John, Henry, Everett (Page), and Virginia (Polly).
Frank was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who showed his love through hard work. He worked for Virginia National Bank and Southside Electric Cooperative. He could fix anything and worked many side jobs to support his family.
Frank was known for his love of gardening and would grow enough watermelons, cantaloupes, and tomatoes for the whole neighborhood. Summer visitors were expected to shell butter beans and peas.
In his own strong, quiet way, he supported Marye’s youth ministry and church involvement. He was the anchor for the butterfly. He taught his family stability and the importance of helping others. He loved his homeplace in Crewe and continued to visit even after it was sold.
The family regrets that a memorial gathering will have to be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are by Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC.
