William Kerr Warriner

William Kerr Warriner, 97, of Crewe, Virginia, passed away on July 26, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born to Dr. William and Erwin Warriner, on July 8, 1923, in Crewe Virginia. William graduated from Fishburne Military High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Virginia Tech.

William is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Libby.

On September 18, 1944, William married his loving wife of 76 years, Martha Warriner. He is survived by his wife, Martha; his sons, William Warriner and Winston Warriner and wife Valerie; grandchildren Vanessa, William, Elliott; and his greatgrandchild, Ernest.

William served in WWII, 1943-1946, as a Naval Aviator. He continued his passion for flying as a private pilot, aircraft owner, and member of the Civil Air Patrol.

William was an avid hunter and enjoyed boating, water sports, and golf. He had careers as a logger, high school chemistry and math teacher, small business owner/entrepreneur, and optician. William was an avid Virginia Tech football fan.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31st, 2020, at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA.
