Willie Hurt, Jr.

Willie Hurt, Jr., (“Junie,” “Pete,” “Big H”), was born May 10, 1939 to the late Willie Hurt, Sr. and Eva V. Hurt in Nottoway County. As God saw his work complete, He called him into eternal rest on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA. He worked as a truck driver in New York and, after returning to Virginia, he joined Norfolk & Southern Railroad where he worked for many years. Upon his retirement from the railroad, he became employed as a bus driver with Nottoway County Public Schools, where he had the cleanest bus in Nottoway County. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted wife, Pearline Hurt; two sons, Shawn and Jermain Hurt; three grandchildren, A’Shauna Rogers, Jalia and Jaxmyn Hurt; one devoted daughterin- law, Shontelle Hurt; two sisters, Mary Alice Eggleston (Harvey) and Elizabeth Hurt; three brothers-in-law, Roger Branch, Randolph and Bruce Scott; one devoted sister-inlaw, Beatrice Singleton; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
