‘WE ESCAPED WITH A WIN’

Nottoway girls win five-setter at PE

Nottoway High School entered this week with a 12-4 varsity volleyball record after a five-set win at Prince Edward last Tuesday (Oct. 8th).

“We escaped with a win,” said Head Coach Travis Andrews . “We enjoyed a muchneeded bye the rest of the week and will start this week with four regular season games remaining.”

After splitting the first two sets (25-15, 19-25, 21-25, 25-15), the Lady Cougars prevailed 15-7 in the tie-breaking 5th.

Nottoway was led by Ally Vermillion with 19 kills and 6 aces. She was 20-for-20 from the service line. Kayla McCraw (11 kills, 3 aces, 10 digs), Hannah Vaughan (8 kills), and Casey Hart (6 kills, 2 aces) rounded-out the Nottoway attack.
