Big Blue!

Scott Rusch (right), 10-year-old son of Randy & Rebeka Rusch of Crewe, caught his first bluefish on Sunday, Apr. 30th while fishing with his dad (shown here) at the “point” near Cape Hatteras, NC. Scott’s catch measured 34 inches long and weighed about 18 lbs. It was caught at about 1:00 p.m. during a falling tide. Randy says his son landed the fish without his help and was using cut bait. Scott says big blues were being caught sporadically by other anglers. They camped at federallyowned and operated Cape Point Campground, which Randy describes as “primitive camping. There are no water/sewer hook-ups. Showers and bathrooms are available but no hot water. This time of year, there was hardly anyone there.”
