BLACKSTONE OFFICIAL HAS ‘CHANGE OF HEART’

But Council holds firm on keeping hoops open

Blackstone’s outdoor basketball courts will remain open until further notice after Councilman Nathaniel Miller was whistled for political double dribbling last week by one of his colleagues.

Miller, who had been adamant that the courts remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic because children need exercise, changed his position during Council’s Oct. 19th meeting.

Miller said that with the BYRA’s Fall baseball and softball wrapping-up across Harris Street in early November, he now supports shutting down the entire sports complex at that time.
