SOFTBALL STAND-OUT SIGNS WITH FLAMES

Liberty lands versatile Green

Nottoway County’s Raye Green , the reigning Region 2A East Player of the Year in high school softball, has accepted a scholarship to play next year for the Division 1 Liberty Flames.

Raye, a senior at Amelia County High School, signed last Wednesday during a ceremony at school.

A stand-out pitcher and hitter, Raye last year helped lead the Lady Raiders to a 20-3 record, including a win over Nottoway in the Regional Finals. The two teams split in the regular season and settled for Co-Champions of the James River District.
