Strong Season

Kenston Forest School’s JV girls’ basketball team finished its season with an 11-7 mark (5-3 VCC), runner-up finish in the VCC Tournament, and 2nd place in regular season standings. High scorers for the year were Mya Mahaney with 151 points, Gracie Gunn 133 (and highest free throw percentage), Hanna Mahaney 68, Kieren McHugh 62, and Juliette Kirker 43. Kenston lost to Brunswick Academy, 30-28, in the VCC championship game. Coach Ben Green said, “I’m very proud of the Lady Kavaliers. They improved tremendously, fought hard in every contest, and worked very hard on their fundamentals. I’m excited about the future of ladies basketball at KFS. I’m even more proud of how these ladies handled themselves off the court. Although we came up two points short in the final game, these girls are winners.”
