Sweep District

The Crewe-Burkeville Angels softball All-Stars (ages 10-and-under) went 5-0 in the District One X-Play tournament in South Hill and advanced to the X-Play State Tournament, which begins July 19th in Dinwiddie. C-B beat Brunswick, 20-4 (three-inning slaughter); Blackstone, 7-4; Farmville, 13-9; Brunswick, 17-3 (three-inning slaughter); and Farmville, 10-0 (three-inning slaughter) in the championship game. X-Play allows stealing bases, and the World Series is set for Aug. 2nd in Hopkins County (Sulphur Springs), Texas. Manager Hailey said her team’s three pitchers -- Addison Childress, Emma Roark, and Mckenzie Senger --“were absolutely amazing” in the District Tournament.
