Where Eagles Dare
Nottoway Cougar senior lineman, Jerry Eddy, signed last week to play football later this year for the Bridgewater College Eagles. The son of William & Amy Eddy of Crewe was joined by his parents and twin brother, John.
Jerry, who served as a Cougar Team Captain last Fall, is a two-time All-James River District Offensive Lineman at Nottoway and received the Most Improved award from the Cougar coaching staff. He maintains a 4.1 Grade Point Average.
Cougar line coach Les Roark praised Eddy for his dedication: “Jerry last year (2017) was my second best lineman, and this past year (2018) my best lineman. He was outweighed 60 to 100 pounds every time he stepped onto the field. He was a leader who had grit and worked his hind parts off. He was coming off serious knee injury this past year and had basically no training camp. He rose up and got the job done for us. His heart and work ethic cannot be measured! His determination and will is gonna take him a long way in life!”
