A police operation in Burkeville resulted in two men being charged with felonies, and police confiscating several firearms and suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Nottoway Sheriff Robert Jones identifies the suspects as:
Harold Ray Watts III, 27, of Crewe. He’s charged with two counts of Possession of Schedule I/II Drugs, Possession of a Firearm while Distributing/Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I/II Drug, and Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Distribute a Schedule I/II Drug; and
Justin Michael Schinabeck, 30, of Farmville. He’s charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Drugs and Possession of a Firearm with Schedule I/II Drugs.
Jones said a search warrant was executed Friday night, Nov. 15th, at 10:42 p.m. in the 500 block of Namozine Road.
Jones said authorities seized “what appeared to be various drugs, plant material, drug paraphernalia, seven long guns/ rifles of various calibers, one shotgun, and two handguns.”
Both men were taken to Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville, where they were held without bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for today (Wednesday, Nov. 26th) for Watts, who is being represented by Richmond attorney Cary Bowen, according to court records.
Sheriff Jones said that, several hours later, while officers were processing evidence, a deputy suffered a reaction to apparent drugs while processing cash that appeared to have a white powder on it. Nottoway EMS was dispatched at 5:40 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 16th) to Sheriff ’s Office. Jones said the deputy was administered two doses of Narcan prior to EMS arrival. Jones said the officer was transported to an area hospital and released later that morning.
