IRANIAN LISTED AS ARRESTED IN B-VILLE

A U. S. Dept. of Homeland Security website reveals that a dozen “Worst of the Worst” illegal aliens have been arrested in this area by agents of ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement).

The website address is: https://www.dhs. gov/wow. Residents can type-in the name of any locality and see the names of illegals — if any — arrested there.

A search of the Courier- Record primary readership area reveals five arrests in Victoria and two in Burkeville, plus another five in Farmville. There are no arrests listed in Blackstone, Crewe, Kenbridge, South Hill, Amelia, Dinwiddie, Wilsons, McKenney, Alberta, or Lawrenceville.

Nottoway Sheriff Robert Jones said he was unaware of the arrests in Nottoway. “I don’t recognize the names, but they might be VCBR folks.” Jones is referring to the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation which houses Virginia’s violent sexual predators who have been committed to that facility — located near Burkeville — after serving their prison sentences.

According to the website, the illegal aliens arrested in this region come from Iran, Bolivia, Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Convictions of those arrested in this area include homicide, rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, gang activity, and narcotics dealing.

The reported arrests in Victoria could have been made at Lunenburg Correctional Center, and the five arrests in Farmville could have been made at Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville. Lunenburg County Sheriff Arthur Townsend said that he is not aware of any ICE arrests in Lunenburg.
