SNAP benefits could halt Nov. 1

As a reminder to area residents needing food, the Courier Record is providing this list of Blackstone area food pantries. List was posted by a local organization on Facebook.

Federal SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits could be suspended starting November 1st if the government shutdown isn’t resolved, impacting millions of Americans who rely on food assistance.

Blackstone Church of God – 126 6th St., Blackstone. (434) 480-2650. 3rd Sunday of each month from 1-2 p.m. (Immediate services provided if call ahead).

Crenshaw Methodist Church – 314 S. Main St. Blackstone. (434) 292-7711.

New Horizon Baptist Church – 183 Revival Rd., Blackstone. (434) 676-3606.

HELP Food Pantry – 314 S. Main St., Blackstone. (434) 480- 4266. Open on Fridays starting at 11:00 a.m.

Mercy Outreach Fellowship – 417 Church St., Blackstone. (434) 298-6540. 1st & 3rd Monday 9 a.m. to 12 Noon.
