‘COMBATIVE’ SUBJECT

Man arrested at laundry mat

A heavy police presence was noticed Sunday morning at the downtown laundry mat in Blackstone, where officers took a man into custody.

Nottoway Sheriff Robert Jones said that deputies shortly after 7:40 a.m. began looking for a male subject, who was the subject of an Emergency Protective Order.

Jones said that shortly after 10:25 a.m. — with assistance from Blackstone Police — the 30-year-old man was located on South Main Street (laundry mat) and was “combative.” Jones said the man was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for observation.
