HOSPITAL PLANNED ON 360

60-bed facility in Chesterfield Co.

A proposed hospital in Chesterfield County could reduce wait times for Nottoway residents needing critical life-saving care.

Nottoway Emergency Services Coordinator Buddy Hyde last Thursday night briefed the Board of Supervisors on the “Magnolia Hospital” proposed for the intersection of Hull Street Road (Rt. 360) and Otterdale Road in Moseley. Hyde was among those speaking in support at a recent hearing on a certificate of need. He said the proposed facility would include 60 beds (including six ICU beds) and would be located 39 miles east of the county seat.

Published reports state that the proposed HCA facility would cost $260 million to build, would be located on a 24-acre site, would have a full-time staff of 360 — including 142 RNs — and would open in 2029 or 2030.

Hyde also said he hopes Nottoway some day soon could have some sort of stand alone ER.
