Man Gets Refund On Power Bill

Blackstone Town Council has decided to refund a total of $386.98 to a local resident whose electric meters had been connected wrong by an electrician.

Since 1969 Graham Jones of 106 Fifth Street has been paying about double for his power because his hot water meter was connected so that the current that passed through it also passed through his regular meter.

Jones had complained to the town that he didn’t understand why his light bill was so high. Investigation found the problem and the town office refigured his bills since the wrong hook-up was made by a local independent electrician.

Town Clerk, Mrs. Ercelle Dewey, said she felt it was only fair to refund the money since Mr. Jones had been charged for something he did not use.
