Kenston Forest golfer Kelsey Carter last week made a hole-inone — and quite possibly VCC golf history — as the Kavaliers improved to 23-0.

Playing last Thursday at Providence Golf Club in Richmond, the sophomore from South Hill hit a perfect pitching wedge from 122 yards on the par-3 second hole.

Kelsey, a long-hitting lefty, carded a birdie and three bogeys en route to an even-par, nine-hole score of 35 and low score among the Kavs.

Thursday’s match was hosted by Banner Christian, and the Kavs defeated the hosts and three other visitors.

Kenston Golf Coach Keith Green says that Kelsey’s ace is believed to be the first hole-inone in competition in school history, as well as conference history.

Kenston is ranked #3 in the state in Division III of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
