Broadcast reports identified Carter as a “William and Mary commit,” but there were also reports that a recruiter was among those attending Nottoway’s season-opener at newlynamed Coach Joe May Field. Dedication is scheduled for Wall of Fame night on Friday, Sept. 26th. Carter made an impression early, scoring on runs of 33 and 62 yards in the 1st quarter.

All active and retired military personnel will be admitted free to the Sept. 11th home game — which coincides with the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks — by presenting at the gate either their Active Duty Card, VFW Card, American Legion Card, or a Copy of their DD214.
Pre-game festivities will be gin at approximately 6:40 p.m. with a special announcement.
Nottoway High School’s JROTC cadets will present colors at 6:50 p.m., and the Marching Cougar Band will perform the National Anthem.

Mid-Season Form Even though your team is winning, you never let up — even when you’re cheerleading. Nottoway cheerleaders Amia Yates and Aliyah Daniel were among those whipping up the home crowd Friday night as the Cougars defeated visiting Goochland, 31-13.
Immediately afterwards, a military flyover of an Air National Guard helicopter will follow. Nottoway High Athletic Director, Jesse Chropka, says the Cougar football team that night will be running out of a tunnel and through a breakaway banner provided by the Armed Services.
