Nottoway High School junior Bradley Hamilton won both the one-mile and two-mile races last Wednesday, Feb. 18th at the Region 2A Indoor Track Championships at the Boo Williams Sports Complex in Hampton.
Hamilton ran the 1,600 meters (mile) in 4:28.62 — 21 seconds faster than his closer pursuer from Bruton High.
Hamilton ran the 3,200 meters (two-mile event) in 10:00.44 — nearly 10 seconds faster than his closest competitor from Poquoson.
Hamilton, who last Fall won the Region 2A State Championship in Cross Country, will advance to the State Indoor Championship in March.
In other Nottoway Indoor Track & Field news, Lady Cougar sophomore Meena Wilson placed 4th last week in the Girls’ Shotput with a distance of 26- 11.5.
Lady Cougar junior Olivia Allen placed 6th in the Girls’ 55-Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.70.
Nottoway junior Khalil Kelly Drawhorn placed 6th in the Boys’ 55-Meter Hurdles, despite a fall, with a time of 11.04 seconds.
