Sophomore Kathryn Gravely tripled for host Nottoway, but Central pitcher Tristan Buchanan was able to retire Lady Cougar batters at key moments. Nottoway managed five hits compared to Lunenburg’s seven. Nottoway pitcher Cheyenne Estep struck-out five Lady Chargers.
Nottoway’s defeat came two days after a 10-0, fiveinning slaughter rule loss at Buckingham. Lady Cougar bats went cold against the dominant pitching of Lady Knight senior Ailiyah Amos, who struck-out 12 Nottoway batters.
Nottoway fell to 5-5 overall, 2-2 in the James River District.
