Varsity girls claim #4 seed in VCC

After an 0-5 start, Kenston Forest ended its regular season in varsity girls’ basketball with a 6-9 overall record. The Lady Kavs clawed back to a 6-6 finish in the Virginia Colonial Conference and secured the #4 seed in the VCC tournament that began yesterday (Tuesday).

The varsity Lady Kavs went 2-1 last week. They beat Southampton Academy on the road Feb. 9th, 38-34. Kardin Jones scored 16 points, made 4 steals, and grabbed 5 rebounds; Bryce Davidson 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals; Hartly Andrews 8 points along with 16 rebounds.

Two nights later at Isle of Wight Academy, the Lady Kavs fell, 49-25. Jones scored 7, Davidson 6, and Andrews 7 with 10 rebounds. Paynter Satterwhite grabbed 7 boards. Last Friday at Amelia Academy, Kenston won, 34-23. Andrews and Emma Claire Grizzard each scored 11 points. Andrews grabbed 17 rebounds, and Jones had 8 boards. Davidson made 5 steals and Grizzard 4.
